The handwriting is very difficult to read in places. Visible fragments suggest requests and matters concerning correspondence and actions taken for the recipient, but the details cannot be reconstructed with confidence. The external address leaf preserves a formal form of address, while the surname and titles remain uncertain. The inventory card records that the unit was begun on 8 October 1697; this was not treated as the letter date. The note on the letter does not permit a reliable date reading.
