Reading notes
Document written on parchment, heavily damaged: the surface is blackened, with mold and moisture stains as well as abrasions along the fold lines; significant parts of the guild articles' text are illegible. The initial 'I' in the devotional formula 'In nomine domini Amen' is large, decorative, and calligraphed with a plait and ribbon motif. A preserved parchment strip for attaching the city seal remains, but the seal itself is lost. The daily date 'feria quinta ipso die sancte Hedwigis' in the year 1523 falls exactly on Thursday, October 15. Sheet 1 is the unit cover, sheet 5 is an archival certification sheet from 1985.
