Sigismund, by the grace of God, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, etc., lord and heir. We make known by the tenor of this letter to all, that We, acceding to the requests of some of our advisors, and especially the magnificent Stanisław of Chodecz, Marshal of our Kingdom and Starosta of Lviv and Lubaczów, sincerely beloved by us, brought to us on behalf of the famous Master Michael, councilor of our city of Lviv, and having in mind the loyalty of the said Master Michael commended to us towards Us and the Commonwealth of our Kingdom, as well as the particular prudence and skill in conducting affairs which he has repeatedly shown before Us in handling the interests of the said city of Lviv, to him and to Michael and Anna, his elder children – whom we have preserved for life by our other letters, themselves and each of them individually, in our Lviv water mill called Piekarski, that is, in the third measure of the same mill, so that in no way shall we allow, nor shall our successors allow, anyone to dispossess the said Master Michael and his mentioned children, or any of them, of the said third measure, but neither shall We ourselves dispossess them, nor shall our successors dispossess them – the entire or intact income and all profit that will result from the device for sifting or cleaning flour, recently installed in that mill, which is commonly called a bolter [Pithel], we have donated, do give and donate hereby, so that the same Master Michael and his said children, as long as they shall live, may collect, draw, and freely use such profit or income from the above-mentioned device for their own needs, without any hindrance from our officials, reserving nothing of this for Us or our successors in its entirety. In witness of this letter, to which our seal has been appended. Given in Piotrków, at the general sejm, on Friday after the feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle, in the year of Christ one thousand five hundred and twenty-six, the twentieth year of our reign.
