SIGISMUND, by the grace of God, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, Masovia, etc., Lord and Heir. We hereby announce by this our letter to all whom it may concern: that we, through the intercession of certain senators of our Kingdom on behalf of the illustrious mayor and councilors of Lviv, have deemed it appropriate to express our consent and permit – just as we hereby agree and permit by this our letter – the redemption of our village of Sknyliv, along with all its appurtenances, from the hands of the noble Jan Wiszniowski, the current possessor of the aforementioned village, and any other persons claiming any rights to the said village, for the monetary sum legally recorded upon the said village, without any increase thereof. This village, thus redeemed, shall be held and possessed by the said mayor and councilors of Lviv with all rights, jurisdiction, and usage, just as it was held and possessed of old, until he or they, or his or their successors, are repaid the sum legally laid out by them for the redemption; while preserving our rights to the said village during this time. Regardless of any of our letters, if such were obtained from us or our successors against this through forgetfulness or someone's insistent urging. In faith and testimony of which, our seal has been appended to this [document]. Given in Piotrków, on the fifth of September in the year of our Lord one thousand five hundred and forty-seven, and in the forty-first year of our reign.
