SIGISMUND
Third, by the grace of God, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, Masovia, Samogitia, Livonia, and also hereditary King of the Swedes, Goths, and Vandals.
To all and each person concerned, we hereby announce by this our letter. That we, wishing to have regard for the benefit of our Lwów burghers and desiring that this city may achieve ever greater growth and multiplication of wealth day by day, have deemed it appropriate to add, establish, and announce to the aforementioned fairs, proclaimed to the said city by our most illustrious predecessors for every feast of Saint Agnes, formerly and continuously held, a new second one for the feast of Saint Margaret, lasting for three weeks, just as we hereby actually add, establish, and announce by this our letter, so that they may be celebrated perpetually every year on the same feast of Saint Margaret. Therefore, we wish that people of every status, rite, and condition shall have the full and free right to travel to our said city of Lwów for the aforementioned second fair, newly established by us, with all kinds of goods and items, to sell and buy them, to exchange things for things, and to conduct other such business, common and customary at public markets and fairs of the cities of our Kingdom, albeit without prejudice to neighboring cities. Those arriving at this fair and returning from it shall enjoy such safety as all those taken under protection and shielded by our safe-conduct letter are accustomed to enjoy, unless there should be those whom public laws do not allow to be favored and to whom it is justly denied to associate with honest people. In witness whereof, we have ordered this letter, signed by our own hand, to be affixed with the seal of the Kingdom. Given in Warsaw at the General Sejm of the Kingdom on the 11th [6th?] day of the month of April in the year of our Lord 1618, in the thirty-first year of our reign in Poland and the twenty-fifth in Sweden.

Reading notes
Parchment document in very good condition. The preserved Crown Seal of Sigismund III Vasa is impressed in red wax, placed in a round tin protective case, and suspended on a white and red cord. Discrepancy with the catalog card: the card gives the date April 6, 1618 (reading the day as a Roman numeral VI or Arabic 6), whereas in the document the notation of the day resembles '11' (possibly an unclear 'VI'/'11'). On the reverse, numerous old signatures and registration notes of the Lwów municipal archive.
