IN THE NAME OF THE LORD AMEN. IN ETERNAL MEMORY. The radiance of the Father's glory, which illuminates the world with its brightness, then especially surrounds with gracious favor the pious desires of the faithful who trust in the kindness of His majesty, when they strive, for the sake of eternal reward, to generously dedicate the goods bestowed upon them by Him to the increase of His cult, strength, and care. We, therefore, Jan Andrzej Próchnicki of Próchnik, by the grace of God and the Apostolic See Archbishop of the Lviv metropolis and perpetual administrator of the Sieciechów Abbey, announce by the power of this letter to all whom it concerns, both present and future: How the venerable Krzysztof Sikorski, formerly provost of the mansionaries of the Lviv metropolitan church, appeared personally before us, presenting a document written on parchment, sealed with his seal and signed by his own hand, containing the donation and foundation of his mansionary at our aforementioned Lviv church, with the following wording: I, Krzysztof Sikorski, priest, desiring to the best of my strength and efforts to remember such great divine goodness and benefits, and not to be ungrateful; and so that for future times there might be a constant memory of the established cult of God and His Most Glorious Mother, the Virgin Mary, through whom the Christian people receive special help – desiring with the help of God's grace to bring to fruition the intention long held in my soul, for the glory and honor of God Almighty, the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Most Glorious Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, and in honor of All Saints, I decide to found and endow a mansionary at the Lviv metropolitan church, for the chanting of canonical hours and the offering of Masses with the office of the same Mother of God the Virgin, for the remission of my sins and for the salvation of the souls of my parents and benefactors. So that the Lord God, who in His kindness does not allow the cult of piety to wither without eternal reward, may mercifully deign to endow us for temporal things with eternal, immeasurable benefits. And so that the venerable college of mansionaries may accept and admit this mansionary of my foundation to their revenues, both of the first foundation of Odnowski and the granges, as well as to those additions to the property and the anniversaries derived from them, and that he may be an equal and legitimate mansionary for them in everything, by virtue of this my foundation I give and assign to the same aforementioned mansionaries, present and their successors, for eternal times, on the tenement house of the reputable Mr. Bartłomiej Taciik, a Lviv burgher, on Krakowska Street, a perpetual annual wyderkauf rent in the amount of sixty-six florins of Polish count, from the sum of one thousand one hundred florins, acquired first from the once honest Małgorzata Gadowska in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and seven, and then from the same Bartłomiej Taciik and his wife Zofia at various times, as the act of cession and entries made in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and ten in the Lviv council books more extensively contains and announces. To the same aforementioned mansionaries I also give and assign an annual and perpetual rent in the amount of sixty florins, from the sum of one thousand Polish florins, on the tenement house of the reputable Jan Szolc, located in the Market Square of this city, acquired in the year one thousand six hundred and eleven, as is more extensively contained in the Lviv council acts. The valid above-written rents by virtue of the mansionary founded by me are to be collected by the aforementioned mansionaries of the original foundation of Odnowski equally with the priest of my foundation. By virtue of my addition to the foundation, I give and assign to the same mansionaries present and future a perpetual annual rent in the amount of thirty florins, from the sum of six hundred Polish florins, on the tenement house of the reputable Mr. Justyn Pilecki, a Lviv burgher, located on the aforementioned Krakowska Street, acquired as is contained in the same council acts in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and thirteen. Furthermore, I promise to give them two hundred florins in cash for the purchase of a certain annual wyderkauf rent. By reason of this foundation, my addition, and the aforementioned rents, the said mansionaries present and future will be obliged and compelled – as they hereby obligate themselves – to celebrate and perform two Masses at the stone altar called the Most Holy Trinity: one for the Blessed Virgin Mary, the second a Requiem for my soul, on individual days of the week, which they shall choose, for eternal years, under the burden of their consciences. To the same aforementioned mansionaries I give and assign an annual and perpetual rent in the amount of seven florins, on parts of the tenement house of the honest Jadwiga Pileszynina, a Lviv burgher, located in the Market Square of this city, from the sum of one hundred Polish florins, acquired in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-four, asking the aforementioned present and future mansionaries that on every feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary and every Saturday, for eternal times, they chant the prose about the same Mother of God the Virgin: Congauderent Angelorum Chori. To the same aforementioned mansionaries I also give and assign an annual perpetual wyderkauf rent in the amount of fourteen florins, from the sum of two hundred Polish florins, on parts of the tenement house of the reputable Wojciech Mirys, saddler, a Lviv burgher, located on the aforementioned Krakowska Street, acquired in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-two, asking the venerable mansionary priests, present and future, that they themselves or through others every year celebrate and perform for my soul 7 vigils with nine readings together with lauds, and on the following day a Holy Mass, and this on the day of the anniversary of my death, under the burden of their consciences; if anyone were to neglect such an anniversary (except for the cause of illness), let him receive nothing. Finally, to the mansionary priest of my foundation I separately give and assign a perpetual annual rent in the amount of fourteen florins, on the tenement house of the reputable Mr. Jan Szolc, a Lviv juror, acquired in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-three. The dwelling in the common house of the aforementioned mansionaries, erected at my own expense, shall remain at their disposal according to their house laws. The right of patronage or presentation of the mansionary of this my foundation after my death will legally belong to and pass to the Lviv council magistrate. After the presentation and acceptance before us of the aforementioned document, the venerable priest Krzysztof Sikorski with due diligence asked us that we deign to approve the said foundation letter and confirm and ratify the individual provisions contained therein with our ordinary authority. We, however, so as not to violate anyone's rights in any way as a result of a hasty approval of this foundation, first issued summons in the form of a proclamation (grida) against all and each one individually who might consider that they have a legal interest in this. When the aforementioned founder presented the duly executed proclamation letter, he asked earnestly that, in view of the non-appearance of the summoned, the aforementioned foundation document be approved and confirmed in all points, clauses, conditions, and articles and that our decree be issued in this matter. We, therefore, desiring for the increase of divine cult to bring to fruition his zeal and efforts, after waiting for the summoned longer and beyond the usual hour – since they did not appear and were justly considered disobedient – by virtue of their default, but at the further request and demand of the said founder, after consultation with our venerable chapter, we deemed it right that the mansionary founded in honor of God be established and instituted in our metropolitan church for the glory of God Almighty, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and All Saints; as we also hereby found and institute, and approve, ratify, and confirm all and individual points, issuing at the same time our judgment on all this by ordinary authority, and we assign and include it in the ecclesiastical immunity, deciding that all these rents and revenues covered by the foundation shall be collected, possessed, and used by the mansionaries present and future eternally and for all times, as they were assigned and designated by the power of the foundation. In faith and undoubted testimony of all this, we ordered this foundation to be secured by the attachment of our seal and ordered it to be signed by our own hand and by the venerable chapter. Done and given in Lviv, in our archbishop's palace, on the twenty-fifth day of the month of June, which was the Wednesday after the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, in the Year of the Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-five. In the presence of the reverend, venerable, and noble: Jan Baranowski, archdeacon, Łukasz Kaliński, custodian, Melchior Olszkowski, canon of our Lviv metropolitan church, Mikołaj Sokołowski, our cross-bearer, Adam Kobyłecki, Andrzej Pękolz, mansionaries of this our church, Wojciech Sadłowski and Andrzej Zvcki, our courtiers, and many other credible witnesses of the above. Jan Andrzej Próchnicki, Archbishop of Lviv, by his own hand Krzysztof Sikorski, priest, by his own hand Jan Baranowski, Doctor of Both Laws, Archdeacon and then procurator of the venerable chapter of the holy metropolitan church of Lviv, by his own hand [Notarial sign with the inscription in the cross: MATEUSZ ADRIAN KOZŁOWSKI] And I, Mateusz Adrian Kozłowski, by holy apostolic authority and public [...] notary of the Lviv consistory, was present at the approval of this foundation to the faithful of Christ. And I saw and heard together with the above-mentioned witnesses how it was approved and ratified by the decree of the most illustrious and most reverend lord, Lord Jan Andrzej Próchnicki of Próchnik, Archbishop of Lviv, perpetual administrator of the Sieciechów Abbey, and assigned to the ecclesiastical immunity. Therefore, I have likewise signed with my own hand, and also with my usual sign and name, which I use in such matters, I have declared, sealed, and strengthened, being asked and called upon to do so. [On the reverse:] [Chancery note:] Foundation of Fr. Krzysztof Sikorski, priest, for the founded mansionary of the Lviv metropolitan church, Year 1625. [Note:] 1626, on the 24th of November, in the absence of [...] Mateusz Kozłowski, notary of the Lviv consistory, by his own hand.
