Urban, Bishop, Servant of the Servants of God, to our venerable brother the Archbishop of Lviv, greetings and apostolic blessing.
Since today, for the church of Nicopolis, vacant at that time in a certain expressed manner, in the person of our beloved son Łukasz, Bishop-elect of Nicopolis, dear to us and our brothers due to the requirement of his merits, by the advice of those same brothers and by apostolic authority we have provided, and have appointed him as bishop and pastor to that same [church] – provided, however, that before he receives the gift of consecration, he shall be obliged to submit with his own hands a profession of the Catholic faith according to the oath which we send enclosed under our bull, and to send the oath of that profession submitted by him to the Apostolic See within the next six months from now, as is more fully contained in our document drawn up regarding this. Therefore, we command your fraternity by apostolic letter that you receive from the same Łukasz, the elect, such a profession of faith according to that same oath by our authority [...].
Given in Rome at Saint Mary Major, in the Year of the Lord's Incarnation one thousand six hundred and twenty-six, on the tenth day before the Kalends of July, in the third year of our pontificate.
