Translation / modern text
Innocent, Bishop, Servant of the Servants of God, to our dearest son in Christ, Władysław, illustrious King of Poland, greetings and apostolic blessing.
The reward of God's grace and the renown of human glory are gained if prelates, especially prelates of churches, and in particular those endowed with episcopal dignity, are granted appropriate care of grace and due respect. Since today we have released our brother Mikołaj, recently Bishop of Wenden, elected Archbishop of Lwów, by the advice of our brothers and from the fullness of apostolic power, from the bond by which he was bound to the Church of Wenden, which he then headed, and have transferred him by apostolic authority, by the advice of our brothers, to the Church of Lwów, then deprived of the comfort of a shepherd by the death of Stanisław of holy memory, formerly Archbishop of Lwów, who died outside the Roman Curia, and have established him as archbishop and shepherd of the same Church, entrusting to him fully the care and administration of the same Church of Lwów in spiritual and temporal matters, as is more broadly contained in our letters drawn up on this matter. Since, therefore, dearest son, it is a work of virtue to surround the servants of God with gracious favor, and this befits royal [majesty], and a pious king adorns himself with deeds and royal glory, we ask Your Royal Majesty and earnestly admonish you that, out of respect for us and the Apostolic See, you hold the same Mikołaj, the elect, and the aforementioned Church of Lwów, entrusted to his care, as especially recommended to you, and that you support them with the help of gracious favor in preserving and increasing their rights, so that the elect himself, supported by the care of Your Highness, may with God's help successfully exercise the office of pastoral care entrusted to him, and that you may receive from God the reward of eternal life for this, and from us the due thanksgiving.
Given in Rome at Saint Mary Major, in the year of the Lord's Incarnation one thousand six hundred and forty-five, on the day before the Ides of June [June 12], in the first year of our pontificate.

Reading notes
Papal bull issued on parchment. Curial script. Original lead papal seal (bulla) preserved on a hemp cord. The document concerns the notification of King Władysław IV regarding the translation of Mikołaj Krosnowski, Bishop of Wenden, to the Archbishopric of Lwów, vacated after the death of Archbishop Stanisław Grochowski. Condition is very good, with minor staining on the parchment.
