Diploma of Bishop Antoni Winnicki establishing an Orthodox youth brotherhood in Stary Sambor

Antoni Winnicki, by the grace of God, Bishop of Przemyśl, Sambor, and Sanok. To all in general and to each one individually, who desire to know this, with piety and faithfulness to the clergy and laity, pious and Orthodox, purely orthodox in our diocese, as Christians, and especially of the city of Stary Sambor. And above all to the venerable priest Father Symeon Żyryski, presbyter and confessor of the said city, to us in the Holy Spirit beloved and blessed sons, with our episcopal grace. Grace, peace, and mercy from God Almighty. The revealed words of the Son of God, the Sweetest Jesus, from the faithful copy of Saint John in chapter 6, [verse] 44, are said: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him." Through the miraculous, contrite, and peaceful [...] of advanced age, as well as youth, teachers instruct. By performing for the gain and attainment of eternal life various ways graciously providing, a work worthy among people he does. As it is with those Youths, who leading in the blooming years of their life, presented the cause of their zeal [...] and into a heart inclined toward the multiplication of God's glory, in the name of the pious and God-fearing, those leaders of the Youths of the town of Stary Sambor gathering, from which God's glory might flourish, thanking God for drawing them toward the fulfillment of His glory, having sealed their heart forever, for the further desire of such will their confirmation, to this [...] episcopal blessing they strengthened, brought to us [...] of their desire and rights, this through a brother they knowingly begged. Therefore [...] they thought [...] they went out. Therefore [with love] and [...] toward the multiplication of God's glory, toward the raising of the house of God. Favoring and in a modest life [...] a holy work pleasant according to the teaching of upbringing and learning. Pastoral instruction of many of the clerical state and all people [...]. We have inclined and now with this [...] [generation?] [...] pious and God-fearing Youths of the city of Stary Sambor so that they might have a spiritual brotherhood at the church of the holy Hierarch of Christ and wonderworker Nicholas, [...] in that city for the future according to Orthodox orders and toward their pastoral obedience of Christians. Also according to the rest necessary for the Youth Brotherhood written down and used. We demand [...] God-fearing Youths of this Stary Sambor brotherhood, that whoever might be in a fraternal bond, serving each other with love in God's friendship, according to the commandment of Saint John: "By this you will know that you are My disciples, [...] if you have love among yourselves." For the attainment of the salvation of their souls [...] toward salvation in fraternal love they decided. So that the distinguished song of God's glory might multiply the work useful to souls, and that the hearts of the brothers might be enlightened in deeds and in humility, and might remain inseparably in gifts and grace for holy zeal. Especially [...] having an inclination to bring, so that among other spiritual virtues [...] pilgrims and brothers toward their salvation and souls belonging from hell might be fervently rescued and saved by fraternal love. All these present [...] our present blessings to the said Stary Sambor youth brotherhood, so that they may remain whole and be kept inviolate, we wish to have and pastorally admonish. Whoever might oppose this our blessing [...] or in payments or arrangements in the goods of this youth brotherhood might violate [...] with the audacity of a spiritual daredevil. Such a one as a schismatic and disturber of the Orthodox Church [...] shall fall under excommunication. If anyone listens to the said [...] boundaries. To the benefactors, however, for eternal times we send God's blessing and our humble archiepiscopal [blessing].
