Oath of fidelity of the Lviv auxiliary bishop Józef Weber to Pope Leo XIII

F[ormula] O[f Oath] Formula of Oath I, Józef Weber, elect of the Church of Temnus, from this hour forward will be faithful and obedient to blessed Peter and the Holy Roman Church and to our Lord, Lord Leo, the Thirteenth Pope, and his canonically entering successors. I will not participate in any counsel, nor will I give consent or take part in any act, as a result of which they could lose their life or limbs, or be treacherously captured, or in any way be violently attacked or suffer any harm under any pretext. I will not knowingly reveal to anyone, to their detriment, any intention that they may entrust to me personally or through their envoys or letters. I will be their helper in preserving and defending the Roman Papacy and the regalia of Saint Peter against every man, with due regard for my status. I will strive to guard, defend, increase, and promote the rights, honors, privileges, and authority of the Holy Roman Church, of Our Lord the Pope, and of the aforementioned successors. Nor will I take part in any counsel, act, or agreement in which anything unfavorable or harmful to their persons, rights, honor, status, or power might be plotted against Our Lord himself or the Roman Church; and if I learn that anything of the sort is being plotted or prepared by anyone, I will prevent it as far as I am able and will notify Our Lord or another person through whom it could reach His knowledge as soon as possible. I will observe the rules of the Holy Fathers, decrees, ordinances, and apostolic mandates with all my strength and will cause others to observe them. I will pursue and combat heretics, schismatics, and rebels against this Our Lord or the aforementioned successors as far as I am able. I will visit the Apostolic Thresholds personally at the times prescribed in the letters promulgated by Pope Sixtus the Fifth of happy memory. So help me God and these Holy Gospels of God.
