Noble and Illustrious Gentlemen,
Most Venerable Patron Gentlemen!
I thank Your Graces, my Benefactors, most humbly for the last response dated November 8 of the recently passed year, dated without appearing in defense of Father Małecki. For in this matter, although Father Małecki was supposed to act in accordance with the will of Your Graces, since he disregarded the rector's instructions, he rightly deserved a reprimand, which Your Graces, my Benefactors, yourselves admitted in your aforementioned response. I apologize for not replying promptly to that response at the time. For it was only this year that the final verdict was reached in the case of the aforementioned Father Małecki, by which verdict I by no means intended and do not intend to violate the rights of Your Graces, my Benefactors, and he was judged solely to repair the damage to the rector's honor. I have not appointed anyone permanently to replace this Father Małecki, but have only requested the gentleman Father Opejdowicz to oversee matters until Your Graces yourselves do what pertains to your rights. If Mr. Jankiewicz also does not suit Your Graces for the reason that he was sent without a formal summons, I am ready to send another upon your

summons, striving for further respect and friendly feelings of Your Graces for myself and the entire Academy. Reporting this with my deference, I remain
Your Graces' Benefactors' [servant],
in Krakow,
dated January 20, 1759.

Rector of the Krakow Academy,
