Letter from Colonel Ernest Korff to the Lviv City Council regarding military provisioning

[P. 2]
Most Noble Councilors of the City of Lviv,
my Lords and Friends!
Having learned from the letter of our deputies that Your Graces, my Gracious Lords, have deigned to receive them kindly, for which we and the army remain very grateful, I declare my continued readiness to serve Your Graces, my Lords. Regarding the matter of approaching with the army, I cannot act otherwise than to graze horses nearby, as I see no other convenient route where we might graze with the army; however, I promise Your Graces, my Lords, on behalf of the military gentlemen, that for this reason, Your Graces, my Lords, shall suffer no damage. Provided only that Your Graces, my Gracious Lords, out of your humanity, deign to supply the army with provisions, and we shall strive to ensure that for this reason, Your Graces, my Lords, shall suffer not the slightest damage, neither to the grain nor to any other thing. Herewith [...] I commit myself to the grace of Your Graces, my Lords.
Given from the camp near Gliniany, on the 7th of July, 1661.
Your Graces', my Gracious Lords', well-wishing friend and servant,
E. Korff, Colonel of His Royal Majesty

Anno 1661 the listy
Discrepancy with the inventory regarding the day: the inventory states July 1, 1661, while the text clearly reads 'die .7. Iulii 1661'. The initial of Colonel Korff's first name is most likely E (Ernest Korff, colonel of foreign-recruited troops in the service of John II Casimir). On p. 3, traces of the seal and paper closure of the letter are preserved.
