Arch. Ant. bundle 566. [1]
Distinguished Gentlemen, Esteemed Friends!
My particular kindness towards your City and the readiness of my spirit to dedicate my efforts to it give me in return the hope for every testimony of goodwill on the part of Your Graces. Since I desire to gain an undoubted proof of this upon the change of my status, I have deemed it appropriate to inform Your Graces that the Most Serene Queen, our Gracious Lady, has promised me in marriage the Most Illustrious Maiden, Lady Catherine Gordon, Marchioness of Huntly, and has set the day of April 27 for the wedding act. Considering that this act will gain much dignity if Your Graces wish to show your kindness to me through your delegate at that time and thus bind my efforts more closely to yourselves and your city, I ask in a friendly manner that you wish to prove to our Court and to myself by this public testimony that a significant bond of kindness connects me with Your Graces, which I, for my part, am ready to eagerly confirm to Your Graces with all the services that could be expected from me or my office. Otherwise, I wish Your Graces good health and the best of success from my heart.
Given in Warsaw, on the 5th day of April in the year 1659.
Your Graces' friend ready to serve,
Jan Andrzej Morsztyn,
Crown Referendary

Reading notes
Jan Andrzej Morsztyn, Crown Referendary, notifies the Lviv magistracy of his wedding to Catherine Gordon (lady-in-waiting to Queen Marie Louise Gonzaga), scheduled for April 27, 1659, and requests the sending of a delegate. The inventory description contains an incorrect daily date '7 квітня 1659' (in the document it is clearly: 'die v. Aprilis' – April 5, 1659).
