[P. 2]
My Great and Gracious Lord Wolski,
My Lord and Benefactor!
His Grace, the Master of the Hunt of Kiev, sends his greetings through me to Your Grace, my Lord, to whom Your Grace, my Lord, declared that when night falls upon me, I must spend the night in Leszczany. To which [...] there was consent; I had to provide oats from the peasants and the manor for Their Graces. As for beer and vodka, which Their Graces demanded, I had none – God is my witness that I do not have a single drop allowed in the manor. Whatever oats I had, I had to pledge from the orphans and give them away on their behalf. In this, as I see the grace of Your Grace, my Lord, one hide was ordered to be flayed from two oxen, that [...] with fodder that could have been in Leszczany. To those estates it is barely a quarter of a mile, yet Your Grace, my Lord, ordered them to stop in Koczewo for a whole day and night. Indeed, His Grace the Castellan of Lubaczów and His Grace the Master of the Hunt of Kiev cannot [...] [P. 3] [...] because total destruction is occurring, not so much by the enemy as by the Polish troops and banners. Therefore, I beseech Your Grace, my Lord and Benefactor, that Your Grace, my Lord and Benefactor, be so kind as not to order Their Graces to cause ruin in my master's estate, for which His Grace himself also pleads.
I commend myself to the grace of Your Grace, my Gracious Lord, and remain your well-wishing brother and humble servant,
Franciszek Perzycki

Reading notes
The letter lacks a daily or yearly date in the text; the date 1701 comes from the inventory card. In the inventory, the surname was read as Пежицький (Perzycki); on p. 3, the signature appears to be 'Franciszek Perzycki'. In the inventory description, the locality was originally misread as 'Ячів', while on the address label it is clearly: 'W Koczewie'.
