Intercession of Eleonora Potocka with Karol Szmeling on behalf of Stefan Laskowski

[P. 2] In Lwów, February 24, 1712 Most Illustrious Mr. President of His Royal Majesty's City of Lwów, My Most Illustrious Lord and Benefactor! It has come to my ears that Mr. Rosnowski, the Liw cup-bearer, is greatly harassing Mr. Stefan Laskowski with court deadlines regarding that tenement house which, through an official receipt and cession, the late lady of blessed memory, my predecessor and aunt (having received the redemption sum of three thousand zlotys), ceded to him on behalf of the entire convent. Although it causes me great surprise that the Mr. Cup-bearer is now starting to make some claims that he did not mention at the time, I trust, however, in the sensitive conscience of Your Illustrious Lordships that you will not allow any harm to come to the said Mr. Laskowski, who purchased this tenement house from us by virtue of just law, as he has fully paid the due sum, and the Mr. Cup-bearer had no title at that time to these goods subject to our sum. If he claims any debt from Mr. Rusinowicz, it cannot burden the tenement house sold by us. I will negotiate with the friend of the latter regarding the eviction promised to the said Mr. Laskowski by my predecessor. Now, however, I greatly request that Mr. Laskowski not be subject to any claims and judgments at the motion of the Mr. Cup-bearer, because he owes him nothing.
