[P. 2] to fascicle 218 I Sigismund the Third, by the grace of God, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, Masovia, Samogitia, Livonia, and also hereditary King of the Swedes, Goths, and Vandals. Illustrious, faithfully dear to us! From the petition submitted by some of your Graces the burghers, we perceive that the grievances they present are not such as to cause discord between your Graces and the local office, for the office has also provided a just justification for all of them. Therefore, we admonish your Graces to behave calmly and to communicate with the office in mutual agreement in all matters. To whom we also direct our letter, so that he may not give the commonalty any cause for disputes, but proceed in everything that pertains to the municipal office and the bearing of burdens, as described by the privileges granted to the city, issued decrees, and reached amicable settlements. If the office adheres to this, as well as to ancient customs, there will remain nothing with which the commonalty should not be satisfied, nor any disputes to fall into with the office. With this, we send you our grace. Given in Warsaw, on the 20th day of November in the year of our Lord 1621, in the 35th year of our Polish reign and the 28th of the Swedish. King Sigismund [P. 3, address:] To the illustrious reeve, jurors, and the forty men, as well as the entire commonalty of our city of Lwów, faithfully dear to us.
