[P. 2]
My Most Gracious Mr. Fafkoński, and my Most Gracious Sir and heartfelt, beloved friend! I bid you good evening. And since you, Sir, do not forget about me with the 'green' [token], I humbly thank you, Sir, and I wish that you, Sir, might lose, and that we might claim victory over you. But it will be a greater victory for us when we hear of your health, Sir, [...] we received news today, but may God turn this into good health and a long life for you, Sir. Although we would gladly visit you, Sir, in such poor health from the bottom of our hearts, yet – as God sees better – it is very bad outside and one cannot walk on foot. If [...] even the worst, we would gladly welcome you, Sir, on the spot. However, since we cannot bring ourselves to look upon you, Sir, in such a weak state, may God grant that we see you, Sir, in health at our place tomorrow and claim victory over you. As for the tenement house, I spoke with Her Ladyship Mrs. Godlewska,

who bows humbly to you, Sir, and together with us regrets your poor health, Sir. She said, however, that she cannot say anything until Mr. Fafkoński himself inspects the rooms – only then will there be an agreement on everything. Not delaying any longer with my writing, I remain your well-wishing and affectionately loving friend and servant.
Her Ladyship Mrs. Różana, as a well-wisher to you, Sir, bows low and sincerely regrets your great weakness, Sir. [...] that nobleman from Podolia [...] from yesterday irritated your words, Sir, but I prefer to deal with a nobleman from the Crown than with one from Podolia.

Reading notes
Private letter; in the inventory, the author appears as Katarzyna Zenewiczówna, in the signature as Kataryna Zieniewiczowna (or Zienkiewiczowna). The recipient's surname in the header is 'Fafkoński' or 'Fatkoński'/'Jatkoński' (the inventory describes the recipient as illegible). The text contains references to a game/wager ('zielonym nieprzepomięta', 'wiktoryie otrzymali') – a reference to the old custom of giving 'green' (forget-me-nots/a green branch). On p. 3, there are postscripts with bows from other people (Her Ladyship Mrs. Różana, Mażna). No year or day date.
