[P. 2]
Noble, My Greatly Respected Lords and Kind Friends!
Knowing well the benevolence of His Excellency the Chancellor, my Benefactor and Principal, towards all of you, my Greatly Respected Lords, as well as his defense of the rights and privileges of this city, I too, following the example of my principal, should in this present letter to you, my Greatly Respected Lords, fulfill your obligation, so that in whatever I can, I may serve you, my Greatly Respected Lords, with all zeal. But since this matter depends to a greater extent from above, both regarding the decision to be taken by me and by you yourselves, my Greatly Respected Lords,
[P. 3]
as to what path you should now take, since that settlement has failed – therefore, out of my sincere kindness, I would advise you, my Greatly Respected Lords, to turn to His Excellency the Benefactor and represent that what was to be done has not been done. If, however, it seems appropriate to you, my Greatly Respected Lords, it is also worth requesting His Excellency the Benefactor that the task of supporting this matter be entrusted to me by the Court. It would be more certain for the interest of you, my Greatly Respected Lords, and for me, it would be safer to act while fulfilling the will of the Court. I assure you, therefore, that you will not be disappointed in my sincere service and true
[P. 4]
friendship, which I hold for all of you, my Greatly Respected Lords. I remain
Your, my Greatly Respected Lords, kindly benevolent and ready to serve

Reading notes
Archival pagination in ink in the upper right corner: p. 2 marked as 1, p. 4 as 2. The date in the archival inventory is incomplete due to an OCR error ('І8 т'), but the document clearly shows the date: 'd. 18 Maj 1738 w Lublinie'. The letter refers to a failed settlement and the protection of the 'Chancellor' (likely Grand Chancellor of the Crown Jan Fryderyk Sapieha or Chancellor Andrzej Stanisław Załuski).
